Journalists from across the political spectrum reporting factually and labelling opinions when given they are opinions. It's a subscription paid by choice, unlike the monovoice paid by taxes for the national broadcaster in breach of its charter.
★★★★★Bev Collins (Imbalaska)· Dec 2, 2024
The Australian has a balanced view of the latest news. The journalists report the news as news and opinion pieces are noted as that.
★★★★☆Ron Painter· May 2, 2025
Reduced my rating to four. Why can't I write multiple paragraphs when commenting on news items? The enter button disappears from my on-screen keyboard, which is most annoying.
★★★★★Josephine Tramonte· Sep 11, 2026
Open-minded, expert reporting from a broad range of journalists

1. Forcing us to use this to get access to subscriber items is wrong 2. Not linking comments to the original article is very USER UNFRIENDLY! 3. Not allowing copying from my comments does not allow easy searching of the original article Who designed this app? Hopeless! .
★★☆☆☆Kimberley MacElroy· Feb 4, 2026
You pay a lot of money for subscription with early access to podcasts, but the podcasts don't autoplay the next, the layout feels like it is the first attempt, there is no link to Android auto, it does not restart where you left off. For news articles you can't get notifications for keywords you might be interested in - just categories- and these are so broad and so frequent I don't read any of them. It's 2026 - do better 'The Australian '.

Used to be to go to paper. Now the home page is filled with silly stories of travel and the like. They have a separate section for that. Sky is becoming my go to after this nonsense. Will cancel my subscription if they don't get their act together.
