Venstar thermostat is my favorite and my job is an HVAC technician. I highly recommend it for commercial use and residential homes. They have made improvements to the Sky port app which tells me they listen to the consumer.

Good app! Convenient, even w/a few quirks. Best part is turning up the heater before getting out of bed on a cold morning. App has frozen or wouldn't load a few times. But works well most of the time.

The Sky port service is complete garbage. Although my unit has Wi-Fi connection, it loses connection to the sky port all the time.

Changing the time on the schedule is difficult. It trys to revert to the original time. I have gone to the thermostat and change the time of the schedule.

Great versatility and capability, but Wi-Fi is terrible. If it disconnects, it's done! You've got to be at the unit to reconnect. There doesn't appear to be a feature of an ongoing, aggressive attempt to reconnect. You're just screwed if you're away. This has happened twice in the first 4-5 weeks of ownership. I basically lit a match to over $200 by buying this thermostat.
