WakeMeThere: GPS Alarm

You get on the bus tired and want to nap, but you can't: if you fall asleep, you miss your stop.

WakeMeThere is an alarm that goes off at a place, not at a time. Set your destination, choose how far ahead you want the alert, and that's it. Sleep, read or watch a show without checking the window.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Search your destination by address or tap it on the map
2. Choose the alert distance with the sliding ruler (metres or kilometres). The circle on the map shows where it will ring
3. Start the trip and put your phone away

It keeps measuring with the screen off. If GPS skips past the radius (a tunnel, a motorway), it notices you went past and rings anyway. And it ignores inaccurate fixes, so it does not ring too early.

THREE MODES
• Arrival: rings as you approach your destination
• Leave: pins where you are now and rings if you move further away than your chosen distance
• My car: remembers where you parked and shows you the distance and direction to get back

AN ALARM YOU WILL HEAR
• 8 tones: classic, wake-up, siren, bell, chime, marimba, digital and sonar
• Sound and vibration set independently: both, one, or neither
• Rings at alarm volume, even with the phone on silent

FAVOURITES AND WIDGETS
Save the places you always go with any name you like, each with its own distance, sound and vibration. Start a trip with one tap from the home screen widgets, including "My car".

EASY ON THE BATTERY
GPS frequency adapts to how far you are: fewer checks when you are far away, more as you get close.

YOUR LOCATION STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
It is used only to work out the distance and sound the alarm. No trip history, no servers, no selling data.

NO ADS, NO SIGN-UP

English and Spanish.

BACKGROUND LOCATION PERMISSION
The app needs background location because its whole job is to alert you while you travel, with the app closed and the screen off. Without it, the alarm cannot ring.

Recent changes:
• New design on every screen and on the widgets.
• New modes: "Leave" (alerts you if you leave an area) and "My car" (remembers where you parked).
• 8 alarm tones. Sound and vibration set separately; it rings even with the phone on silent.
• Distance with a sliding ruler, in metres or kilometres, and the alert radius drawn on the map.
• Each favourite with its own name, distance and sound.
• More reliable: rings even if GPS skips the radius, ignores bad fixes, uses less battery.
