Synology is the best router with extraordinary controls for parental control, quota, etc. And DS Router is an amazing app to control that

This is the best router management app I've used. Way better than Tether, by miles. I use this app for general management of our network utilizing a Synology RT6600 router. For parental controls this app is the best I've seen. Aside from giving you the ability to set multiple networks (depending on router model), you can set independent schedules and control the amount of Internet time by child, and see which devices are connected.

This app for the Synology router is great. I've never had any problems using it. It allows me to do everything I need to do with the router without having to log in using the web based authentication. It also lets you trigger firmware updates from the app. The parental controls have a wide range of features/options that are all controllable via the app. It's the main reason I made this choice on the specific router. No complaints here.

I love Synology's products, but this app has had the same limitations and bugs forever, and they've basically abandoned it. It really is trash. The features on the router itself are great, but this app ruins it. The parental controls interface is AWFUL. You have to switch tabs to get it to show the correct screen, linkages between profiles and devices are buried layers deep, the reward system is Stone Age, and it's laggy as all get out. Infuriating that they don't even aspire for mediocrity.

Now impossible to open. Will not open. Spyware. Abandonware. Functionally does very little and won't open your router interface unless you permit an external call to a remote Synology server. F-that.

Unlike with the web interface, the app is sorely lacking in features and capabilities. For example, try configuring DHCP settings or try changing the DNS settings. These settings are nowhere to be found in the App that I could locate. The app is good for looking to see what devices are connected to the router and for an overview of internet connectivity. A good app should allow one to edit virtually any of the router's settings that you can do via the web portal. This app is extremely lacking.

The app keep stopping when accessing "Safe Access" since today. The app works fine on other functions but stopped at "Safe Access".
