I've had my flame boss 400 for 6yrs. Along with this app it has worked flawlessly for all my cooks since I got it. Probably around 100 cooks. The initial setup was frustrating but doable.

Great when it works. May disconnect in the middle of a smoke and leave you to figure it out. Finniky af to set up. *EDIT* 2->4 stars. When I wrote the original review I had a successful smoke rate of 1/3, but now it's like 7/9. I still think the app could use work, but it's stayed connected since then and works like a charm.

The app works well. Years ago, it was barely functional. I'd like to see a low pit temperature warning that alerts higher than 45F, though. Good app.

This was great up until Thanksgiving 2025 when the app became unusable due to an update. Running the latest app software right now, and I'm seeing constant disconnects, and it takes several minutes to reconnect.

Not able to connect the flame boss Thermometer to the app or to my 2.4ghz Wi-Fi Once I'm able to connect directly to the Thermometer the list of Wi-Fi networks does not show any of the Wi-Fi networks available

Inexcusably awful. A while ago, you had the app where not all the information would fit on the screen at one time. That was fixed. Now on Thanksgiving, the app won't update regularly. It will lose the connection to the device often. Luckily the controller still works on its own. The only way to get it to connect again is to do a force stop and then open the app again. This is all so inconvenient. You can do better.
