Comments on Flame Boss for Android

I've had my flame boss 400 for 6yrs. Along with this app it has worked flawlessly for all my cooks since I got it. Probably around 100 cooks. The initial setup was frustrating but doable.
★★★★★ Chip Fields · Mar 14, 2025
Customer service responded quickly to my issue (couldn't generate an account), and now it's smoking my brisket while I control the air and meat temp from across town. Working great!
★★★★★ Lineman 2003 · Apr 30, 2023
Love it! Been using it for years. Also use it on the treager for the pit temp and meat probes. The system really shines on the egg though!
★☆☆☆☆ Jeff Nabbefeld · Nov 27, 2025
Inexcusably awful. A while ago, you had the app where not all the information would fit on the screen at one time. That was fixed. Now on Thanksgiving, the app won't update regularly. It will lose the connection to the device often. Luckily the controller still works on its own. The only way to get it to connect again is to do a force stop and then open the app again. This is all so inconvenient. You can do better.
★☆☆☆☆ John Farley · Dec 25, 2025
I have an original Flame Boss 300, the app sucks now with it. I am going to ditch it and get the therm open version now
★☆☆☆☆ Paul Sanders · Nov 15, 2025
With the latest update the app doesn't work at all. I can see my device, but I can't control it at all, and I can't get any information from it. I also tried removing my device to re-add it, and it won't let me. The app is completely broken and unusable.
