Offline hiking maps, GPS, free; excellent! I installed this app after realizing the "free" version of a popular hiking app would be completely unusable for my weeklong hiking trip in the North Cascades. Hiking Project was essential for planning hikes and checking out elevations and trail steepness.

I have an account with Hiking Project that works on the web. This app will not accept that username and password and wants me to create yet another account with onX. Why HP, why? The data in this app is crowdsourced, yet this is a step towards paywalling it. Uninstalling.

Great the first couple of times I used it, but today something happened where I try to look at my recorded tracks, and it flips over to the explore tab but doesn't show my red line track and doesn't zoom in on the area where that hike took place. This was fixed after completely uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but this makes me wonder when it how the app will break the next time. Will it be while I'm on the trail and relying on the app to let me know where I am? Confidence shaken. S23 Ultra

App not working. I can't download areas or trails, and I can't view my location. Use the Hiking Project website, instead, to view and download trails, and use a different app for navigation.
