Edit... Sometimes the app stops connecting to the stereo for some unknown reason... I've found that each time it has stopped working the IP Address of the stereo has changed. It's very annoying, but the remedy is to check that the app and the stereo are on the same IP address.... The app works perfect with my Google Pixel 4 and Android 10... Always buy Google Pixel, so you don't have compatibility issues... Samsung's phones have their own ui on top of pure Android, that screws things up

If you like me cannot run this on your new phone use Phones to run a virtual android v7 and run the app in that! Worked as it used to! Yay!

This used to be a great app, but Pioneer isn't updating it to work with newer Android versions. Really a shame as this cripples control of my Pioneer AVR that I paid a lot of money for. Of course, you can use the physical remote but this app made things massively simpler to control. The fact Pioneer won't update this has left a very bitter taste in my mouth in regards to Pioneer. I have an even older Denon receiver that still has an app remote in the play store which works as of Dec 2022.

Used to work up until 2017. I can't access my receiver without the app as the receiver is in a cabinet. This once premium product is now a paper wight. I guess it is time to move on to a different brand. What a shame. Onkyo has buried pioneer after its purchase.
