This remote is so basic. It's actually overwhelming how basic this remote is. I think a consequence of its basic basicity is that it works just fine. I would have rated it a basic 3 stars, but gave it 5 because it does not only what I NEED it to do, but it also does what it's SUPPOSED to do. Onkyo TX RZ 800

I have had that same problem where this Onkyo Remote APP just stops working on occasion. I have just realized in this case by resetting, just unplug my receiver from the power, (wall power), then plug in power again the APP works once again. You may want to try that and see if it reconnects on each occurrence.

Stopped working with my TX-NR626. It can find the receiver, but will not connect

App no longer sees receivers. Why is there no way to tell the app the IP of the receiver?

Knock, I'd like to get an update with manual device IP addition feature. I can ping my device, but it does not respond to the app request. Something is wrong with the support as there's no change since 2017. I do not see Onkyo as a low-level devices' manufacturer, so it's a real shame.
