KidMoat is an Android parental control app for kids and teens that helps parents set screen time limits, block distracting apps, filter unsafe websites and track their child’s GPS location.

HOW KIDMOAT WORKS

1. Install KidMoat on the parent’s Android phone.
2. Add your child and pair the child’s Android device.
3. Set screen time, app, web-filter and location rules from the parent app.

KidMoat is built for transparent family supervision of a parent’s own minor children. It is not intended for secret monitoring of adults, partners or employees.

## ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE — REQUIRED

KidMoat requires Android's AccessibilityService API for these features on the child's device:

• Block restricted apps
• Enforce time limits & schedules
• Apply category rules

It's the only Android API that detects app launches the instant they happen. Without it, blocks and time limits can't be enforced in real time — a kid could open a restricted app for many seconds before any other API would notice.

Data accessed: only the foreground app's package name. KidMoat does not read screen content, on-screen text, passwords, messages, or any other on-screen information. Package names are matched against your rules on-device and recorded in screen-time activity synced to your KidMoat parent account so you can see which apps were used. Activity is sent only to your account — never sold or shared with third parties.

## VPN SERVICE — REQUIRED

KidMoat requires Android's VpnService API to run an on-device safe-browsing filter:

• Filter websites — block inappropriate sites in the categories you enable
• Safe browsing — prevent navigation to harmful domains across all browsers and apps. Data accessed: only the domain names.

KidMoat does not read page contents, messages, form data, passwords, or search terms. Your child's internet traffic is not routed through any KidMoat server — non-blocked domains go to a standard public DNS resolver.
