Description
The Memphis Mobile App is the best way to connect, monitor, and control your Memphis Wood Fire Grill. Easily check your food from home, work, the store, or your car (the passenger seat, of course). Plus, built-in automated recipes know exactly at what temp and how long to cook your favorite cuts of meat.
Unlike many other grill monitoring apps, the Memphis Mobile app works through the cloud, meaning that as long as your cell phone has a connection and your grill is connected to your home Wi-Fi network, you can literally check your grill from anywhere in the world. The App allows you to adjust the temperatures of both your grill and meat probe set points. You are required to turn the grill on manually before use, but we’ve included a safety feature that allows you to power the grill down remotely. Happy grilling!

I love the app, it is very useful for keeping an eye on the grill. This app isn't very well reviewed here but I haven't had any issues like the ones described in other reviews (knock on wood!). Reading the forums it seems this is mostly an issue with spotty Wi-Fi or if the grill isn't far from the router (definitely not an issue for me)

The Wi-Fi card supports only 2.4Ghz band, disable smart switching/single ssid on your router or the grill will disconnect and reconnect to Wi-Fi. You need to see 2 separate Wi-Fi networks on a laptop or phone before connecting to Wi-Fi. Initial setup did not work on android phone, no redirect to the ssid page. Setup works fine from my laptop. Disconnect power on the grill to reset the Wi-Fi card after a home power outage. Works even off Wi-Fi from anywhere from my phone to control the grill remotely.

$10,000 spent on elite built in and outdoor kitchen setup. Grill is great, but this app is awful. It never works. On the rare occasion it does work (communicate, send data), it is short-lived. If I close the app and reopen it, then it stops working again! My Wi-Fi signal I'd be great, so I don't want that excuse. I can set up my Sonos speakers in my neighbors' driveway 2 doors down, and they run perfectly off my Wi-Fi signal. I find myself constantly having to go out and check cooking temps, which is what I wasn't supposed to have to do. Wasn't that one of the sale pitches from the Memphis Grills website?!?

DON'T BUY THIS GRILL if operating remotely is a must-have (as it is for me). The app is terrible, and rarely works. I've read a ton of these reviews that say you buy this grill for the grill and not the app, but I disagree. If I wanted to babysit a smoker, I'd buy a stick burner. I bought a pellet smoker because I have three young kids and I can't watch a smoker for 12 hours. The app not working is a BIG deal. It is a huge part of why I spent 10k on a smoker. PLEASE FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
