Description by BKK Budapesti Közlekedési Központ(from Google Play)
MOL Bubi is an environmentally friendly, fast and convenient mobility alternative in the city centre. Opt for the greenest means of public transport and use MOL Bubi! Download the app, find a MOL Bubi bike at one of the 158 stations and you are ready to ride within a few seconds. All this in the blink of an eye: once you have registered, you can choose the fare that best suits you, and then you will be able to read the news, give feedback, redeem a coupon or contact customer service directly. Use the QR code scanner to pick up a bike or enter the 6-digit number seen on the rear of the bike or below the seat tube. The smart lock in the back will open with a loud click, and after the beep, you can start cycling. In the app, you can track how long you have been riding. When you are ready to finish cycling, just return the bike to any station and dock it into a free slot. Lock the bike by pressing down the lever on the smart lock until it clicks.

Sometimes it feels like the system is still in beta, but it works well enough and customer service has so far always been receptive of my complaints. I wish all public infrastructure worked this well (in this country and in some others). Sometimes the bikes do feel too worn and damaged, but they are shared and available at little cost, so this seems unavoidable pending a significant upward shift in the popularity of basic human decency.

Great app, when the bike opens/locks. That's about 70% of the time.

Very good service that covers the central flat parts of Budapest.

They removed the day pass. 50f per minute is almost £7 per hour. Not very budget friendly. One star. Update: Mol bubi team, time to think about daily pass for your fellow tourists who want to reduce the carbon emissions.

Before using this service, there are a few things to know. The price-to-quality ratio is decent, but there are some issues. Even if you park your bike within the parking are, you could still be fined 5000 HUF for parking outside it. Don't bother calling support—it's unresponsive. The only way to contact them is by writing, and they usually take 3-4 weeks to reply while still fining you for the bugs in their system. So I'd advise you to take photo of a bike after you park it.

I wanted to cancel my automatic bubi monthly pass subscription but i didn't know how, because there isn't a cancel button in the ticket menu which is really misleading. There isn't even highlight for the pass to showcase that its clickable. It's just straight up not fair, and you need to google how to delete subscription which should not be needed! Not only that but it wrote that it is going to renew on 05.20. And it renews today (05.19)! What is that if not straight up misinformation!?!!?
