Great, as an English man who visited for a week I found this app excellent and reliable! Wish we had something like this in the UK where 1 ticket that works for selected buses, trams and the metro system!

I can't use the Budapest go app, since the upgrade which is april 18, 2026, and up until now even if I uninstall, and installed the app and even if I already update it, still when i log in it always says on the app" Unknown Error" up until now still I can't use, ended up buying the actual monthly ticket on the station. 😐🫠

It would be nice when the public transport provider in a European Capital would adhere to the GDPR. GDPR principle: Personal data must be collected for specific, legitimate purposes. Only the minimum necessary data may be processed. When I'm not able to provide all data you are requesting during a 20-minute bus ride then you are collecting too much data.

Painfully slow qr code reader on android. Only works from close. The iphone version used to be fast and worked from far. It's very frustrating when queuing at the bus and holding back the line.

beware-even when you buy tickets, you still can get fined. There was no mention of this in the app. In the normal world validating a ticket means your ticket is valid, in this app you can validate a ticket and still get fined. Could have used the location settings to warn people of being outside of zones but hey... you make less money scamming people that way.
