The app will not allow any receipts for dental expenses to be uploaded. That makes it useless. I have tried taking a photo and uploading a file and nothing works

What a poorly tested app. When uploading a dental claim you can't attach a file, you cant take a picture because of the 4mb limit; and you cant save the claim for later. @Bupa are you actually going to sort this out ?

Unfortunately it keeps crashing. Also, it doesn't have a way to send a message to Bupa out of office and my wife is not able to book an appointment for my son.

App no longer supports this Pixel 8a, apparently. Edit: I contacted Bupa on web chat as suggested, then they asked me to email a nonexistent address.
