Works well, easy to use. Great for hunting, camping, and outdoor activities. However, I use it regularly to check on approaching storms within a 30-mile radius. The location chosen, not at my residence, but to alert for storms coming from typical direction. (Don't care once they pass.) I use 30 miles because lightning can strike up to 25 miles away. Worth it to buy the "PRO" version. It pays the developer's for their hard work! 10/27/25 Inexpensive, but GREAT app. Buy them some coffee!

I have been using the free version for a few years now. I started using it when I was doing wilderness search and rescue, one of our training rules was to pause training when lightning is within 10 miles. This is especially true on the water, so I have continued to use it when I go paddleboarding. The app is super easy to use, set it up to notify you just how you want it, and show strikes up to 1 hour ago. I do wish it had a longer history for those midnight storms.

This app is not alerting me to lightning strikes in my area. My dogs freak out when there is thunder, and I really need to know ahead of time if it's going to happen. I need to be home with them if there's going to be thunder and this app is not alerting me

This is a worse version of all the free websites that already exist. It doesn't show strikes in real-time and the weather-radar is wildly inaccurate. And those are the only two features of the app except for the "Hotspot" feature which is completely useless. EDIT: The radar is now officially unusable, since the layer of the radar data and the layer of the map have diverged, making it purposeless.

A lightning app not showing ALL the surrounding lightning right now! Yikes!! Big storms, strike alerts and map is blank.
