To prove your identity on the internet, you increasingly need an identity card (eID) and card reader.

With myID.be you can use our myID.be app. Do you want to log in to a website or an app that supports myID.be? Then you only need to scan a QR code and enter a five-digit pin code. This way you can prove who you are on the web quickly, easily and safely. And you don't need your card reader.

Why myID.be ?

* safe – Passwords just aren't safe any more. Using strong encryption, we build a digital wall around your identity, that can be proven only using two-factor authentication: your device and a PIN code.

Activate the app in 2 steps

You can connect your identity with the mobile application in just two steps. Log in once with your Belgian eID card and card reader. Scan the QR code using the mobile app and choose a five-digit PIN code. After this the mobile application is activated and ready for use.

★★★★★ Simple to use and superfast as you don't have to wait to get a 'Login' notification like 'itsme'. First bug: Need to differentiate between FF nightly and FF production. Also, a biometric authentication option would be awesome. No other features required. I'll come back and give 1 star if this app start bitching about root! 😜

★★☆☆☆ Not possible to activate, the service is in maintenance at 8:00 AM. No info on the end of the maintenance window. Not a great start, reminds me a bit too much of the issues I had activating itsme in the beginning....

★★☆☆☆ Bert Vermeulen Doesn't work on rooted devices. No advantage over itsme.

★★☆☆☆ Worst QR-code scanner I have ever seen in my life.

★★☆☆☆ Just like ItsMe, the app refuses to run on a rooted device. But I rooted my phone in order to install LineageOS, for which I still get security updates, as opposed to stock Android. So you force me to buy new hardware even if I'm still very happy with my older device? I thoroughly disagree!
