Ridiculous that iOS has a version for "tourist" while android needs to use a phone number to register or be able to activate a digital card. Nonsense.

The app is a piece of manure. Cannot upgrade it because my ID was in use already. Cannot log in because my phone number changed. Support cannot help. Gotta call a number. The whole thing is pathetic.

The app has potential, but probably severely hindered by some random legislation or compliance. Doesn't recognizer HKID card, needs to register the octopus csrd before top up, app crashes upon using the "bank top up" option. It's easier to top up at 7-eleven / OK convenient stores than setting it up for you and your family members. Update (2026 Q1): they added several ads to slow the app down and show between top-ups app switching... It is 100% certain topping-up at 7-eleven is quicker.
