Android HK visitors can't have a virtual card without an HK number. Iphone users can.

What's the point of reloading your octopus via FPS if it never reloads, and it just refunds back to the bank account? The whole point of the digital version is to avoid awkward situations, this didn't help at all Update: I've recently refunded my Android octopus card and reverted to using my physical card as this app chooses when it wants to work. Had so many awkward times when it just went into endless "processing" Highly recommended

The app has potential, but probably severely hindered by some random legislation or compliance. Doesn't recognizer HKID card, needs to register the octopus csrd before top up, app crashes upon using the "bank top up" option. It's easier to top up at 7-eleven / OK convenient stores than setting it up for you and your family members. Update (2026 Q1): they added several ads to slow the app down and show between top-ups app switching... It is 100% certain topping-up at 7-eleven is quicker.

You have no option for international visitors using android, only iphone. It cannot be hard to allow for visitors without a Hong Kong phone number.

Ridiculous that iOS has a version for "tourist" while android needs to use a phone number to register or be able to activate a digital card. Nonsense.
