Works well to control pool hardware functions. Ideally, it should be capable of providing usage data such as how often the heater has run and approx gallons of water pumped, etc. That data would be very useful for pool owner to optimize energy consumption (electric and gas).

The app is very good. An improvement would be notifications such as salt low. Why do I have to look at the app when I have water issues to only see a salt low. That's what apps should do....

This app is as dated and horribly maintained as the entire pool industry. (20 years behind the times) The app confidently says one thing (like your pump is on high, your lights are on) but reality is often completely different. I get random emails that say "Alarm" in the subject but the body of the email tells me there is a firmware upgrade available for my controller (which when I check, it's not). Why would you put "alarm" for the subject of an email that is regarding a firmware update?

When I try to set the speed in the app, the system only accepts preset speeds. You cannot customize the speed through the speed bar. It is not a connection problem; the outdoor control unit has a full connection, and my phone does too. The heater sometimes stops working, but the app still shows it as working. This app works properly only for the lights feature. It's so sad that a company like Hayward relies on such a bad app. I paid $2k for this app and control system. Disgusting

Constantly disconnects from the router. It doesn't work more than it work I always have to walk back to the controller and reboot it. Very frustrating.
