Download the Polestar Energy app for free and lower your total cost of ownership while smart charging with cheap energy at home. Polestar Energy is the interface between your local energy provider (Polestar-recommended partners only) and your Polestar. You simply download the app, ensure you have a compatible wall box charger, and also sign up to a valid energy contract with one of our preferred suppliers. Then you plug in your car, set your charge level, your time of departure, and the Polestar Energy app takes care of the rest. The app uses intelligent scheduling features to ensure your Polestar is charged efficiently and ready when you need it.

After hitting a wall getting my Polestar 2 to work with Intelligent Octopus Go I contacted the support team at Polestar Energy, and they were able to get things working for me. Now working reliably.

To add a bit of balance, the app works, and much better since you no longer need to add the charger. Integrates with OiG just fine.

You can see your car charging, but can't currently add an Octopus account or an Ohme charger.

Unfortunately the interface with chargers and electricity providers is very poor. The app constantly has problems (e.g. sync is delayed by minutes vs the Polestar app, does not sync with energy provider, etc.). The service cannot be trusted and is far from the ideal of "plug in and let the tech do the work". Smart charging (which makes a massive difference to charging costs) is unreliable and performs poorly. And then there's waking up in the morning and finding the car didn't charge.

Riddled with issues so charging is a real faff. At least every month it makes me re-pair my Easee charger and once a week it refuses to sync with the car, so you end up paying for peak rate charging. Now it resets to a 100% SoC target on each charge, so you have to set it back again. I don't think any of the developers test the app before pushing it out.
