Update 2026: got verified by visiting a station last year, early in my trip. This year it has worked very well. Only once did I experience delayed release tickets during CNY and you can't get waitlist tickets on the English version of the app, so have to use Trip and pay their fees. Now wondering where I can download the Chinese version, so I can order food on the train. 2025: Can't verify, therefore useless!

This app just got a major update. The previous version was basically unusable for foreigners. This new one is like a completely different app. No more constant bugs and connection interruptions. You no longer have to look by using actual station names: Beijing->Shanghai searches for all stations. The app now also searches for connecting itineraries. There are occasional hickups, but much less than previously.

Managed to register and login via Gmail using English setting. But when u add a passenger, I'm not sure how u can verify the passenger's email? It's not clear. And u cannot resend the verification? It's also important to note that once u register, u cannot change your passport details. The chinese language version has more settings.

You should improve your UI for all users, even foreigners. After a while, all account verification measures can just expire and come to naught every time we need to travel by rail in China. I feel there are also many other information or ways to secure rail tickets for a period of time, for example 1–5 years. Please do better. Can you imagine the panic passengers will feel if they have to make another trip to the service center before their trips in a short span of time?

Unable to book for both myself and my spouse. I'm a US citizen. When I try to add my wife, a Chinese citizen, as a passenger I cannot because I have to select a country for her ID and China is NOT listed! So, I cannot use this version of the app most of the time. Such an easy fix and it's not being done!
