FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are my entries uploaded to a cloud? No. Every entry lives in a database on your device, and there is no account sync. Only when you request an AI reflection or weekly summary are the selected entry texts sent — no account and no advertising profile.
Can I use Reflect without the AI? Yes. Writing, daily prompts, search, streaks, highlights and history all work with no reflection and no internet connection at all. The AI is an option, not a requirement.
How do I back up my entries? With an encrypted backup: you choose your own passphrase and Reflect exports a file you can keep in your cloud, on your computer or on a USB stick. Without that passphrase nobody can read it — not even us. Restoring adds entries alongside what you already have instead of overwriting them.
Can I speak instead of type? Yes. Dictation writes straight into the entry, and if you want, the recording itself is kept as a voice entry and travels with your backup.
Is this a replacement for therapy? No. Reflect is a journal for sorting out your thoughts. It is not a medical or psychotherapeutic product and not a crisis service.
Which languages are supported? 27, including English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish and Ukrainian. The app follows your device language automatically.

Recent changes: Bug fix: "Delete all data" now really removes everything. Decisions, compass rules, their experiments and the verdicts on evidence used to survive, even though the prompt promised it "permanently removes every entry".
