Purchased a Rheem water heater with leak detection and Bluetooth for scheduling the temperature to reach the level that we want. The rest of the day we can keep the temperature lower to save energy and dollars as soon as I set up the app which was very simple I recognized how useful this feature is, and it also has a leak detection sensor this manufacturer has been around for a very long time, and I expect great performance.

The app is the only way to save money with the heat pump/electric water heater. Setting the schedule is super simple, and you can have it different for every day of the week or the same. Completely customizable. We had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, so we had to add a 2.4 ghz network to our router. that's also very simple once you know it's an option. The only thing missing in my opinion is the current water temp. Instead, the app shows how full the tank is. I don't really understand that conversion.

Terrible app! App does not communicate with thermostat. Tried different Wi-Fi access points, tried different phone Samsung S23, S26, uninstalled/reinstalled the app, yet still the app will not change thermostat settings. If I change at the thermostat and restart the app then the changes appear in the app. Interesting enough I can change the temperature settings via alexa. Sorry that I chose a Rheem system. BTW support was absolute worthless, still waiting for a callback.

Doesn't work at all. Rheem cant say what the fix is or when. Hot water heater is stuck in a schedule that sucks and rheem can't tell me how to stop it. Almost like a bait and switch product. Far from being smart

3 years later....still horrible. Had to reconnect water heater due to new router and won't connect to the cloud, so now I can't change the settings on my water heater. Last time I had to make a new account but out of email addresses. Terrible.
