I've been a Starling customer for ten years. This is by far the best banking app that I use, everything is very clear, it's easy to move money around and set up several little 'spaces' for different things - holidays, birthday funds etc.

A nice app but twice this year they have frozen my bank account and card with no reason and when contacting customer service they are unable to identify or fix the problem and have to forward the issue to another department with no time frame for a resolution. It is unacceptable as you may find yourself in a petrol station at 2 in the morning with no access to your money or find your wage payments bouncing and having to chase it up for 2 weeks with your employer to get it back. Fix up starling!

Don't waste your time, got the app, states they are not opening new accounts at this time. Contacted support, I was told it was a bank issue and would be sorted soon. That was 3 months ago. Can't get an account with Starling. Use Monzo or Nationwide if you want a better bank that works and gets all the basics right. Edit: thank you for your reply. I had an account a year or two ago, closed it as I wasn't using it as much, came back to open it, states I have an account but can't open it.
