Mesenger had a large box with info for each conversation over the actual conversation, could not get it to go away, could not see or interact with a single message. Couldn't check notifications. Still seeing sponsored posts despite the app claiming they are blocked. Fully useless.

This is highly misleading. It's just a webpage app that lets you view facebook and messenger like a desktop browser, nothing more. There's indeed a way to not 'seen' messages to an extent, but you won't be able to do that on phone
