Had the Wiser system 4 years. It has enabled me to understand how our older house behaves applying different heat/hot water schedules/strategies. I had no choice but use less energy when costs escalated and our manual Dayton thermostat and programmer was not helping that. Wiser has given me the info to understand how to save money while heating longer due to home working. App major version was a step backwards as some components not visible but now very happy with function and flexibility.

It could do with a makeover, but otherwise it functions as I would like. Initially I found that the heating was being cycled on and off too often when close to the set temperature. After reading online forums, I found I could change it to open therm mode, even though open therm wiring isn't present. This makes it behave like a regular on/off thermostat which is how I like it. An app setting would be preferred though with more explanation what the settings do

Useless. Constantly drops connection to the hub and rooms randomly add themselves to heating schedules. I've removed 2 rooms from the schedule 3 times now but in a day or 2 they're back and Wiser is firing up the heating to 20 degrees in those rooms. Just give us the old app back! Edited to comment on the latest version. It's just as useless. Cannot turn heating off, per-room schedules re-add themselves all the time. App frequently can't connect to the hub despite medium hub to router signal.

Heating comes on when shown as off controls literally don't work, heats rooms up that I've turned off, zero customer service no engineers apparently and all responses to emails are cut and paste, don't get the system its horrible and will end up costing you loads of money

I bought wiser for the tight open therm integration, the app is mostly ok and the support is excellent. There is no heating OFF button, instead there is a 'away mode'. Sometimes when I hit the plus button it shows "decreasing" for the temp!! Which is poor software engineering. If you change your Wi-Fi or router and put the hub into setup mode and connect your app to it - can can't edit the Wi-Fi network!! Like, seriously!!
