This is a great app, but once you pay off your mortgage you are locked out the very same day without the ability to access your statements or view online any of your transactions despite the fact the app tells you in red lettering that your account is no longer active and that you may view your statements and transactions for five years. A bit of a contradiction when it tells you that you can do something but refuses to let you do it. Therefore, keep all paper statements as no access once closed.

The new Barclays App is very easy to use and saves me numerous journeys to the bank. Thanks to this app, the only times I have to visit my branch is when a problem arises which I am unable to rectify using the app and of course, when I visit the cash dispenser at either my branch or any other cash dispenser. Since I have been using my debit card for almost all payments, I have not had to use any cash machine for quite some time, because I am able to check all payments as they appear on the app.

I previously rated this app as 5 stars back in 2022. 2016-2026 the Barclays app was rock solid and had app features that challenger banks don't have, such as a payments calendar and a running account balance. Unfortunately, the new app update in October 2026 has changed all that. All these features are now gone. The new app is much clunkier, slow and difficult to navigate. They changed the font from serif to sans serif, but the font was not an issue at all. Please can we have old app back

App is fine, but they have just done an update which removes the bank balance from each day on the transactions screen. This makes it far less useful to track month to month
