Description
The City of Barrie’s Transit ON Demand service is a transit service that does not have a fixed schedule or route. The buses in this Transit ON Demand service allow users to travel throughout their zone from bus stop to bus stop, or to a connection stop to further their travel across this city on a fixed bus route. Riders can book through this app, a web portal or over the phone. When using this app riders simply select a time for their ride and their start and end locations, desired time or date, and book! The app will let riders know when to expect a ride, where to wait and when they will reach their destination. Trips can be booked up to 7 days in advance with payment made on the buses or through the city’s mobile payment app.

Not sure why this app has such low rating. The app works very well. The service is great. I used it during winter when my car was being serviced and this was a great option. Highly recommended!

I leave every morning same time for work. I usually receive the same drivers, and they are always on time and very nice to chat with. It helps me get to a bus stop that is a little distance to walk to. Really appreciate the app

A great app for getting from here to there. The hours of operation need improving so that people on afternoon and midnight shifts can benefit, not just those with 9–5 jobs. Looking forward to more routes adopted/available to help commuters get around easier in the future. I do wish the app allowed the user to set pickup/drop off sites. IE: where the person is going, then whatever options for where they'd like to be dropped off/picked up. Still, very grateful this program exists.

My wife went from being on time, every day for work, to being late most days. It's so bad that she now drives into work with me, a full hour early, just to be on time. This is also considering she gave herself 30 minute windows to be on time, but the buses were still late. They wait 30 seconds then leave? Why does this rule apply when the bus arrives earlier than scheduled? God knows how difficult this system is for the elderly and disabled.

Makes you open outside webpages to see detailed information about the zone maps. Won't let you book multiple buses for one trip (such as going from zone b to zone d). Doesn't have a good user interface either. Doesn't show normal bus routes, so you can plan your on demand bus to get you to the normal bus route. Doesn't give prompts or suggestions to help you book your trip. It's too faint and hard to read. Even one star is too generous.

This is idiotic. The app doesn't show routes for buses that I know use my route, even though it's within the time frame. Furthermore, having this replace scheduled transit entirely defeats the purpose of taking the bus. I could just call a cab, Uber, etc. instead of requesting a whole bus for 1 person. Lastly, we already have an app for buying fares and monthly passes. Do they transfer to this app, or do we have to use 2 different ones?
