Description
Monitor your energy consumption anytime, anywhere with Bright. For real-time data you need Glowmarkt compatible hardware - which works with either smart or traditional meters. People with SMETS2 (or E&A SMETS 1) meters can access their half hourly data with Bright for free, once they go through our verification process. Bright lets you check your energy consumption, this could be electricity and gas usage from your smart meters, via the DCC or our Consumer Access Device (CAD). Clamp-on technology sensors can support electricity usage monitoring.

Simple to set up the app was working within a day of commissioning of my electricity smart meter. The IHD from my electricity supplier has never displayed my gas consumption but Bright displays both gas and electric usage with a few hours delay. Has a clean, uncluttered UID which is quick to navigate. Have tried other apps but this gives the best UX and allows me to make informed decisions about my energy use. Update: I'm now on a ToU tariff and app correctly displays my half-hourly costs.

Great for getting gas smart meter half-hourly data. Then use this to work out your heat loss as part of planning a switch from gas boiler to heat pump.

A bit pointless as you cannot set your tariff. For me the purpose of this was that EON next drive tariff does not configure smart meter so wanted to see correct cost. No different to using a IHD

Readings are nonsense. It says I used 87p of electricity yesterday. The little device they gave me with the smart meter suggests £4.50, which is infinitely more realistic. Simply not for purpose, unfortunately. If I look at the monthly history, it offers figures back to Jan 2022. Odd considering the meter was only fitted in October 2022... Gas reading seems closer to the mark, but still different to the official device I was given.
