We use our camera to ensure our (3) beloved chickens are safe when in their coop (especially at night). Clear pictures - both day & night. The camera has held up incredibly well the past (2) yrs through extreme winter and summer weather conditions. My only complaint is that we have lost audio/ sound. Where I could once hear activity in the coop, I can no longer. I have always kept the unit clean & free of dust, but despite all efforts the ability to hear activity in the coop is now gone.

I wish the activity tab actually worked. Some days a light doesn't turn on, and I don't know why, so it would be nice to see that the event to turn on was sent and logged. Otherwise, it works 98% of the time. Be cool if it had some effects for Halloween or Christmas. No way to set color to be the same for lights. No new products or features for years. Make a simple button that can be assigned a function instead of me going into the app to turn off a light.

So far I am very happy with Kasa. I actually found a camera device in the trash :) hooked it up and am 100% impressed. The picture and sound quality are amazing, and it was a very easy simple set up. Definitely would even pay for a Kasa device ;)

As of the latest update in July/August 2026, it no longer shows the accurate on/off status of the devices on the "All Devices" main page. I've cleared the cache, reinstalled the app, deleted and re-added devices but the problem persists. The main devices page instead shows you the status hours ago, perhaps when you last had the app open or the last time you selected the individual device, etc. I'm surprised others haven't noticed the glitch yet!

3 years on and still constant connection issues despite strong Wi-Fi. Plugs randomly become 'unreachable' & require resetting. V.frustrating.

I've used the app to access the smart plugs for our fans and AC at home, but now the firmware to the plugs won't update, and I think that's why I can't remotely access the plugs any longer. Don't get me wrong, the app still works if I'm at home and the plugs still turn on and off as scheduled, but it's the remote access that's no longer available.
