We bought this for our Christmas lights. But now we also use it daily by setting a schedule for our TV to come on and off, so our kids can't watch more screen time than we have decided or get on it before we want them to be on screens. If we get busy or distracted, the TV will still only come on and stay on according to the schedule, so there's no accidental watching or playing video games beyond our set limits.

At first, I wasn't sure that I liked the light switches I purchased. But then I understood the app settings, and it changed everything for me. I now can appreciate the app and settings. The Kasa switches are not the only ones I have. They are the ones I have in what I'll call critical areas. Kitchen, living room; places where the on/off feature can be overridden. I'll do an update in a few months. I really want to see how my electrical bill responds to automation.

Impossible that this app has 4.7 stars. Frequently fails to actually perform the requested action unless you retry like five times 🤷♂️ Don't bother configuring smart actions, the app will forget / delete them anyway. Cannot apply all on or all off actions, it immediately says operation failed. You have to tap all the individual devices one by one to achieve the same thing. Network is unstable. Please try again later. Does not even attempt to save. Verdict: don't buy anything from this company.

App works well enough for smart plugs and strips, does what it should do, have been using the app for years. The most recent firmware update seems to have done something though to the connectivity stability. Devices falling offline temporarily constantly. Spent hundreds of dollars only to have a firmware update screw the pooch. Looking to another brand for energy monitoring plugs now.
