Riichi Mahjong Helper is an AI-powered riichi mahjong calculator that recognizes physical tiles. Photograph your hand to calculate winning scores, check tenpai and see your waiting tiles.

The tile recognition model was trained on AMOS tiles for automatic mahjong tables. We are improving recognition and adding support for more tile designs.

■ How to check tenpai and calculate scores

1. Select Tenpai Check or Score Calculator.
2. Arrange your tiles within the on-screen camera guide.
3. Take a photo and check the recognized tiles.
4. Replace or add tiles as needed, and delete incorrect detections.
5. View tenpai and waiting tiles, or your winning score.

■ Photographing a winning hand

For score calculation, place the winning tile in the separate area to the right of your hand.

· Upright winning tile: tsumo
· Sideways winning tile: ron

Enter the round wind, seat wind, dora, riichi status and other required details to calculate the score.

■ Arranging melds and kans for recognition

· Chi or pon: turn one tile in the meld sideways.
· Closed kan (ankan): turn both end tiles sideways.
· Added kan (kakan) or open kan (daiminkan): adjust the meld on the recognition results screen after taking the photo.

■ Correcting recognition results

Lighting, camera position and tile design can affect recognition.

Tap a misrecognized tile to replace it, add missing tiles, or delete false detections. You can also correct melds, kans and the winning tile before analysis.
