Comments on Thermann Control for Android

★★★★★ Aaron Rogers · Sep 25, 2026

Easy to use and works well for scheduling the heat cycle of my Hermann Smart Electric Hot Water system. Allows me to avoid peak electricity prices and take advantage of my home solar setup. Some handy features could be added and when I contacted the support team to make a feature request they were very open hearing about and considering new features to be added in future updates. Excellent support in that regard. I'm looking forward to future updates.

Great app for full control of your water heater while at home or anywhere around the globe!

★☆☆☆☆ gravelsanga · Aug 3, 2026

What a garbage app. I've battled the constant non-connecting, can't find hot water unit, unable to detect, resetting itself etc. for over a year now. Much easier to forget the app and just set a timer.

★☆☆☆☆ Sil van Rijnsoever · Jan 9, 2026

Complete garbage. It needs an account, GPS access and Wi-Fi access. None of those are needed for a hot water system. On top of that I can't even get it working because the app completely crashes, flickering screen, the lot, while trying to set it up. What a joke for $500 on top of the normal price.

★☆☆☆☆ Sarah Forbes · May 11, 2025

Terrible the app won't commit to changes, at first it worked a dream. Now it doesn't save any changes made. Not really happy at all

★★☆☆☆ Beth Macpherson · May 15, 2025

Clunky, freezes on opening, drops out constantly, regular messages stating it can't connect with the Wi-Fi (hot water system connects just fine!) one of the worst apps I've ever used. When it does actually work, it's handy.

★★☆☆☆ Vincent · May 22, 2026

Can change heating time and heating modes. However, it takes a while to update and defaults to low numbers that are blatantly false. doesn't even use last recorded temp. Would like to see a web interface or API to interact with it faster/locally
