How it works?
Let’s say you are making a journey from Station A to Station C and your train stops at Stations A, B and C. Because of a glitch in The Matrix it is often cheaper to buy a ticket from Station A to B and also buy another ticket from Station B to C rather than buying one ticket from Station A to C.

Let’s give a concrete example:
An Off-Peak Single UK National Rail ticket from Birmingham New Street to Bristol Temple Meads costs £57.65. *

However, a National Rail ticket from Birmingham New Street to Cheltenham Spa Costs £26.40 and a one from Cheltenham Spa to Bristol Temple Meads costs £9.90 which is a total of £36.30. If you bought these 2 tickets you'll save £21.35 for exactly the same train and journey!

The savings can be even more pronounced when you travel during Peak Times (yes you read that correctly), are buying last minute tickets or tickets for longer train journeys. Note that although you will have multiple tickets you do not need to get off and re-board the same train.
