Empowered Teacher

Empowered is a national community of K-12 teachers rallied around a growth mindset (where challenge is opportunity, not obstacle) for them and their students. Empowered offers any educator FREE access to tools for their classrooms, resources for long, happy, impactful careers, and a supportive community of change-making teachers.

Empowered teachers share a way of teaching that uses immersive, experience-based activities to help students leave school with the skills and confidence they need to create and seize the opportunities in their lives.

We offer any teacher free access to a host of resources to support them in their classrooms, careers, and communities:

CLASSROOM
Dozens of turnkey learning activities including all Youth Entrepreneurs content —searchable by subject, principle(s) reinforced, etc. and includes customizable playlists. Funding is also available (to qualifying teachers) to help bring learning experiences to life and reward meaningful contribution in the classroom. Additional content, developed by staff and teachers, will be added regularly.

CAREER
On-demand and live/in-person PD, continuing education events, and inspiration from fellow teachers. Teachers, through ongoing participation, will earn access to more support tools and resources.

COMMUNITIES
Teachers can engage, support, and collaborate with each other through the Empowered Teacher app, the Empowered network, our social media, Empowered Teacher magazine, virtual and in-person social events, and more. Community members serve as mentors, guides, and peer advisors to colleagues down the hall and/or across the country.

Empowered’s resources are all based on what we call Experiential Self-Discovery (ESD).

ESD is a transformative instructional strategy that allows teachers to transform their classrooms into real-world learning experiences that ignites a growth (or “entrepreneurial”) mindset and encourages them and their students to discover, develop, and apply their unique talents to create and seize the opportunities in their lives while creating value for others.

ESD is brought to life through individualized, immersive, hands-on, “3D” learning. Principles are a consistent set of ideas to anchor to and drive behaviors in all aspects of your life. Classrooms become markets; places where goods, services, knowledge and ideas are exchanged. These forces, when combined, improve mindsets helping students develop confidence through trial and error and learn to innovate so challenges are seen as opportunities vs. obstacles.
