BRISK WALKING BENEFITS YOUR HEALTH
We all know how important it is to be active. The good news is you don’t have to go to the gym or start expensive fitness programmes, walking briskly counts too!
Just ten minutes of brisk walking every day can get your heart pumping and can make you feel more energetic, as well as lowering your risk of serious illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Going for a brisk walk is a great way to clear your head and improve your mood.
Active 10's are simple to fit into your day, from taking the dog out to going for a lunchtime walk there are lots of opportunities to include brisk walking into your daily routine.
This app relies on your phone’s inbuilt sensors to measure your activity so you may experience varying levels of accuracy especially in older devices/operating systems. To improve accuracy, we recommend keeping your phone in a pocket close to your body rather than in a loose coat pocket or bag.

Comments on NHS Active 10 Walking Tracker for Android

The Active 10 app is very good, and it says you can log in with your NHS log in. But the link to read the T&C's for logging in with your NHS log in doesn't work on my TCL Android phone. The link turns yellow as if it will work, but nothing at all happens. As I won't agree to something I can't read I haven't been able to log in with my NHS log in. I have tried a few times weeks apart and the same thing always happens.

Have reinstalled the most recent version of this app, and it now appears to be running well. Useful in motivating activity and setting a brisk walking pace.
★★★★★Courtney Paul· Aug 4, 2026
Fun and interactive way to get out and about. Recommended to go for walks to manage stress but found it hard to maintain, this means I have a fun way of seeing those walks progress while collecting badges. Even if I don't hit the brisk walking target seeing I've been out for an hour is just as rewarding.
★★★★★David Johnson· May 13, 2026
Useful to measure progress and provide incentive. May encourage some people to overdo things.
★★☆☆☆Jenny Holding· May 1, 2026
This started out great, really helpful in tracking brisk walking over each week. However, it is now deleting recorded walks. So this week I've done two 40+ minute walks and two 20+ minute walks. All showed up at the time but now three of them have just vanished, and it says I did zero minutes on those days. This has previously happened to individual walks, and I've put up with it but losing more than half of my walks is ridiculous and renders the app pointless.
★☆☆☆☆Mark Foster· Aug 23, 2026
The App's recording of brisk steps via the NHS login add-on is totally unreliable and presenting the wrong data analytics in what is meant to be a health tracker. Every single day it significantly reduces the brisk steps accumulated in the current week, despite the true brisk steps still tracked correctly in the main App brisk step count. It is the most unreliable App that I have ever come across!
