We all know how important it is to be active. The good news is you don’t have to go to the gym or start expensive fitness programmes, walking briskly counts too!

Just ten minutes of brisk walking every day can get your heart pumping and can make you feel more energetic, as well as lowering your risk of serious illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Going for a brisk walk is a great way to clear your head and improve your mood.

Active 10's are simple to fit into your day, from taking the dog out to going for a lunchtime walk there are lots of opportunities to include brisk walking into your daily routine.

This app relies on your phone’s inbuilt sensors to measure your activity so you may experience varying levels of accuracy especially in older devices/operating systems. To improve accuracy, we recommend keeping your phone in a pocket close to your body rather than in a loose coat pocket or bag.

One improvement for me would be for the app to have a log of current pace, accessed by a button, as well as the current method of finding your current pace. This would only require a rolling log of the last 200 or so steps to be kept on the device. This would be very useful for users who want to target a specific pace The current checker is good for finding what a brisk pace feels like but clunky if you want to check your pace at intervals.

It's a nice looking app, however I have just completed 30 minutes of brisk walking on the treadmill, and it didn't record anything! A bit pointless

Good intentions, but frequently resets a day's counter back to zero after recording a random number of 10 minute brisk walks, or after you achieved an award during that day. The award stays, but you lose that day's contribution to your cumulative total towards the next award. So the APP is highly inaccurate, the rewards incentive is compromised and the APP fails to meet its aim 🙁 Note my other walking APPs re it's without error proving my mobile is not the issue!

Doesn't record number of minutes accurately. I have walked for 20 minutes today yet app is showing 58.

I have used this app successfully for several years. However, recently it has become unreliable! For example brisk walking minutes appear and then disappear. Total walking minutes are 50 mins and later reduce to 20 mins!. I have cleared the cache, restarted phone and reinstalled app. I also have the Fit app and this continues to work, so not a hardware issue
