I have had this app a handful of years, and it has never let me down. The only trouble I ever have is trying to read the saved text messages after transferring them to my computer. It ends up all jumbled and very hard to read, but I think it's some sort of file type issue that's fixable. Because of that issue I did check out a couple other SMS backup apps, but they wanted fees, very un-user friendly apps without having the ability to back up to an external USB storage. I'm not doing that again.

Verizon getting rid of Messages + recommended switching to Google Messages. I was in the process of switching my number to a new phone. When I got the sim installed into the new phone everything transferred fine except for my Messages from the old phone. I couldn't get any help from Verizon ot Google, but this app took care of the problem. You will need to answer several prompts so take your time and just back up the things you need to. It will take quite awhile to back up then restore on new phone

I have used this app for a long time, and it has always been very reliable, until recently. Now, when I transfer my calls and messages between phones, the app duplicates, and sometimes triplicates hundreds of messages. The only way to resolve this is to manually delete them from the new phone. If you have years worth of messages this takes forever. The problem seems to have coincided with the wider release of RCS messaging. Please fix this issue. The app would then deserve it's original 5 stars.

I downloaded it and back at my files to my phone and I can't find the file that it put it in gee thanks guys what a joke

Synced to my Google Drive and app immediately notified it can't locate my synced SMS backup in Google Drive. What's the point then? Useless app.
