Update (6/5/26): I LOVE this app again! Thank you for whatever updates you provided that fixed the problem. It's working great again! Backing up texts to files again.🙌🏼 Previously update (11/2025): I loved this app UNTIL now. It reliably backed up all my SMS texts for years. However, after the recent update (11/29/25), the app won't even open. I get a message, "Unfortunately, SMS backup & Restore has stopped." It's useless now. Everything was set up perfectly to back up to my desired folder.

Awesome product!!!! Was able to recover text messages that Samsung Transfer couldn't. Need to make sure to turn off RCS on source phone to work properly. AWESOME PRODUCT

This is the most annoying app, it doesn't work. It purposefully doesn't show local backup, shows wrong non-existent files just to get Google Drive access. Even after restore nothing works no call log oe messages show up.

The sms Backup utility did NOT back up the entire message thread. It left out my first and last message in the thread. There should be 43 total messages in the thread, but the toll is only listing 41.

Only backup half the conversation, which is the scent messages. So all my backups have what I sent in the conversation but nothing the other person sent, so you can only read one side of the conversation.

ONLY SMS NOT RCS. This app will not allow RCS text to transfer over due to them being encrypted on both ends. Google how to back up your text to Your Google account both RCS and SMS along with all photos and videos you got and sent. Set up your new phone then if you want you can delete the backup and start fresh. Google already owns everyone's info so for me, I don't see the issue. This app will only move over SMS any RCS will not work due to its encryption end to end.

Backup seemed to work. Restore is very much not working. Texts aren't populating, old ones, new ones. Did their recommended cache clearing and still nothing

Will overwrite MMS table on restore, so if you have image, etc. not backed up, and you restore, say goodbye to that and any other MMS. And stupidly backs up trash. Stop that or make setting! So this really makes this app useless for MMS. Goodbye.
