Honestly it's great. I've used the product for years and the app keeps getting better too. Great and accurate functionality, plenty of extra features. Really it's about safety, security and peace of mind, and this gives me that. And of a lot of the extra features make caring for my dog that much easier as well.

The device is unbeatable. Beware, you'll want to keep the charging port covered with electrical tape when not charging, or it will fail sooner than later. Such a fantastic device, with such a silly Achilles heal.

I have been using Whistle on various dogs since it was first released. I love this app! It works well. I have to agree that I liked the old activity tracker better, but they are adding it back in! I have never had a crash or freeze in the years I have been using the app. Tracking one missing doggo was difficult a few years ago due to lagging updates (we always got to where he had just left from) but it was due to spotty cell service and not the app. (We did catch up with him, though.)

I updated to 2.0 when I changed my phone, and immediately started getting false escapes when taking the dog for a walk. In trying to troubleshoot this with whistle support, they had my wife upgrade to 2.0. Now she's getting the same fault. Whistle doesn't even accept that the problem might be the new version. Duh! Stay in the old version as long as you can.

I'm so upset that I updated to the new version. It is absolutely horrendous. Most of the information is gone - Pet achievement, monthly activities average (calories, distance, rest, distance), etc. It updates so slow, or it doesn't update at all, so I'm always just wait and waiting to see what activities my pup has done for the day. The app is so bad, I'm literally switching to a different device altogether. If you have the old version, HANG ON to it, DO NOT UPDATE!
