Wildland Fire Guide: IRPG

Wildland Fire Guide puts the NWCG Incident Response Pocket Guide (IRPG, PMS 461) on your phone, offline, with the colour coded navigation of the paper book intact. You do not remember a page number on the fireline. You remember that the medical pages are the red ones.

SOURCE: This app republishes the NWCG Incident Response Pocket Guide, PMS 461 (January 2025), a public domain U.S. government publication. Read the original at https://www.nwcg.gov/publications/pms461

SAFETY OF LIFE CONTENT IS ALWAYS FREE
The complete red Emergency Medical Care section, the 10 Standard Firefighting Orders, the 18 Watch Out Situations, LCES and Safety Zones are free forever. No purchase, no account, no network.

THE BOOK, BY COLOUR
Covers and cards, Operational Leadership, Operational Engagement (green), Specific Hazards (gray), Fire Environment (orange), All Hazard Response (yellow), Aviation (blue), Other References (white) and Emergency Medical Care (red). Every topic shows the document and printed page it came from.

BUILT FOR THE FIRELINE
Red light mode: a true red on black palette so the screen does not wreck your dark adaptation at 0200. Glove mode: bigger type and bigger touch targets. Fully offline. No ads.

FIELD TOOLS (PRO)
Safety zone separation distance and acreage from flame height. Fine fuel moisture, FFMC and probability of ignition. Flame length to tactics. Relative humidity and dew point from dry and wet bulb. Load and manifest weights for crew moves and sling loads. Water delivery: pump discharge pressure, friction loss and hose fill. Fire size class and average perimeter in chains. Every result shows its source, and says plainly when a number comes from somewhere other than PMS 461.

FILLABLE TEMPLATES (PRO)
The 8 line Medical Incident Report (free), the briefing checklist, and the After Action Review format. Saved on your device only. Nothing is uploaded.

ALSO IN PRO
Every remaining section of the guide, personal taskbook and qualification notes, and unlimited saved pages.

ONE PURCHASE
No subscription. No ads. No tracking. Works in airplane mode.
