I use this app with two grills in two separate locations. I did have to set the grills up on an iPad initially a few years ago (would not connect on Android), but it has been a flawless experience on Android ever since.

I like it - you need a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi to connect...but newer 5GHz routers have the older 2.4 system built in. *It doesn't seem obvious-but you MUST be logged into your Camp Chef account to be able to connect to your smoker through Wi-Fi. I ran into that issue later on when I found that I could no longer use the Wi-Fi...only the Bluetooth would connect and that's no fun as you have no way to control the smoker from across town...getting that ingredient you forgot 😉

Shame on camp chef for letting their app devolve down to a 1.8 rating. My smoker is awesome. The app can't even set probe temp set points anymore. Good grief.

App will not control the grill at all. You change the temperature or smoke settings in the app and confirm it, and it just keeps the same settings and doesn't change anything. If you want an app to monitor your cook, this works ok. But still is not as good as the Thermopro Temp spike which actually has features where you can set alerts for ambient temperature and food temperature alerts. This app has none of that. So basically the one thing the app actually does it kinda sucks at it.

Loses connection all the time. Can't set temp or names on probes. Kinda defeats the purpose of a Wi-Fi smoker. App is broken. Buy a Traeger.
