Great previews of trails, downloadable trail maps for GPS tracking and use while you are navigating trails, crowdsourced reviews and information about trails and parks. Keep an activity long with duration, speed, elevation, length, and more. There is even a fun feature where you can replay your activity. I use this all the time for planning, navigating, and recording activity. I am happily a paid subscriber for this well-designed and easy-to-use app.

Once again I've been locked out of All Trails. App thinks I'm a bot. My crime? I used the app less than a minute, I looked up and added a trail to my upcoming across-state trip that's it. Bam locked out. Imagine driving 2+ hours (or longer) to hike & finding yourself locked out. No captcha protection, straight to the ban hammer. Its amateur hour at All Trails. Also, I've been using this app for years. The last 2 years it's been heating up any phone I use it on, draining the battery like crazy.

Not great. They force you from the browser to the app without being able to load the browser page onto the app. Hard to use and search local trails ahead of time

I subscribed a while ago and did some walks, but haven't done any lately as the app is unfortunately too unreliable. For example, yesterday, the app wouldn't download the map and wouldn't track or provide directions when online, so I gave up and did my own thing. Fortunately, I knew where I was, and the weather was ok... but I wouldn't want to rely on this in an unfamiliar or emergency situation.

Since June 25, 2026, the last 3 hike distances have been completely wacky, zigzagging back and forth along the route showing much longer distances. The first hike showed 5.5 miles when it should have been about 3 miles. The next hike 6/28 showed 9.12 miles, s/b about 3.2. The last hike on 7/19 showed 8.18 miles, s/b about 2.67. I got the actual milage from other hikers. (The duration of the hikes was accurate.) The app has become unreliable and unusable for tracking miles.
