The Blueair Friend app informs you about air quality and what you can do to improve the air you breathe.
Use the app to remotely control your connected Blueair air purifiers and stay in control of your indoor air at all times.
The app reports air quality registered by your products’ sensors in real time, and traces your indoor air quality over time in intuitive graphs.
The app also let you set custom notifications to stay informed when particles and gases thresholds are exceeded.
You can also program your air purifiers fan speed and light behavior to certain times and days of the week.
The Blueair Friend app tracks air quality outdoors at your position, or any place worldwide. The dominating pollutants in outdoor air are monitored down to a single city block and updated hourly: AQI (EPA index), particles (PM2.5, PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2,) sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO) and ozone (O3). The color coded heat-map gives you a fast overview of the air quality outdoors.

READ THIS IF HAVING PROBLEMS The reason this app will not function properly in the setup phase is that it doesn't have the right permissions. Open up permissions and temporarily allow storage and location for this app to complete the setup. Note that as other people have stated, there's a difference between the blinking and fading Wi-Fi symbol. Blinking is regular setup, pulsing is manual setup. In manual setup, make sure to connect to the Wi-Fi network the unit creates.

Works fine. Like any WiFi-connected device without a sophisticated UI of its own, the initial setup process is inevitably going to be a little bit finicky, but follow the instructions very carefully ( noting the distinction between blinking and fading, 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz, making sure Android doesn't reject the Wifi connection to the Air Purifier SSID because it 'doesn't have internet access' etc), and it'll pair up just fine.

Absolutely no issues. I run a dual band xfinity router. I followed the app instructions. Did not connect the first time to my router. Instructions prompted to follow simple steps like "is wifi signal on device solid or flashing. I selected the operate answered. Instructions prompted me to Connect the unit manually which had me directly connect my phone to Blueair wifi. Next instructions had me reconnect to my home wifi. Firmware up date. Everything seems to be working as it should be. 10 mins

The worse app ever. Spent more than 2 hours to connect the purifier and still unable to connect. The purifier WiFi button shows connected but cannot get the Classic-config in phone networks. Wasted my time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't connect my two air purifiers to the app on Android (used two different devices) as the app displayed a red cross where the network name should be and the Next button was inactive. However, I borrowed an iOS device and that registered them ok. After this, both air purifiers then showed up in the Android app and could be controlled fine from then on. So if you are an Android user, suggest you have an iOS device handy just to connect new purifiers to your network!

The Airpurifier 480i is connected to WiFi but shows offline in the app. Tried reinstalling the app, automatic configuration, manual configuration- nothing. No support from Blueair. The app is useless, which makes most of the air purifier functions useless - do not buy this product.
