PedalArrow combines bike navigation, route planning and cycling events in Munich and the surrounding region—from the first idea to the completed ride.

DISCOVER TOURS AND EVENTS

• Find ADFC tours, courses, technical events, local groups and more
• Filter by date, distance, difficulty, pace, surface and other details
• Save events, open the original source, or pass details to calendar and contacts
• Compare meeting points on the official Bavarian web map (Radln); other maps remain fallback sources

PLAN AND NAVIGATE ROUTES

• Plan bike routes with up to five intermediate stops
• Compare relaxed, balanced or direct cycling profiles when available
• Review distance, duration, elevation, gradients and desired arrival time
• Import, review, organise, share and navigate GPX files locally
• Record a ride with a visible status and save it only when you choose
• Detect deviations conservatively and reroute only with a reliable position

USEFUL INFORMATION ON THE WAY

• Find nearby places, including e-bike charging stations, playgrounds, pumps and repair stations; add a destination or intermediate stop
• View forecasts and climate context for a planned ride
• Compare MVV public-transport connections with available real-time information
• Consider Bavarian holidays, school breaks and selected travel information
• Use optional offline spoken guidance
• Deliberately start one of seven official Bavaria Radio live streams

PRIVATE GROUP RIDES

Ride together by invitation, extend the ride and find members and meeting points on the map. Location sharing starts only after your explicit action. Group names, aliases, meeting points, routes and shared positions are end-to-end encrypted. live.pedalarrow.com forwards encrypted content and processes temporary IDs and technical metadata. Pause sharing or leave the ride; the group service stores no travelled location history.

OPTIONAL HEALTH CONNECT EXPORT

With your permission, saved cycling rides can be exported to Health Connect. Connecting and enabling automatic export are separate choices. Only rides recorded and deliberately saved afterwards are exported, with their actual timestamps, route, distance and speed. Disconnecting stops further exports; you manage previously exported data in Health Connect. PedalArrow does not use health data for advertising or send it to its own servers.

DATA-MINIMISING AND TRANSPARENT

PedalArrow requires no account and operates no advertising, analytics or tracking system of its own; it does not use an advertising ID. Radio streams are started deliberately, are provided by the respective broadcaster and may contain broadcaster advertising. Saved favourites and routes are encrypted in private app storage excluded from Android backup. Precise location is requested only for deliberately started location features; PedalArrow does not request background-location permission. Online features send only the necessary inputs directly to the services identified in the app. Local app data can be deleted centrally. In English, ADFC text is translated on the device using Google ML Kit. Models download when needed; technical SDK data may be sent to Google. Tour text stays on the device.

PedalArrow is a non-binding planning and orientation aid. Traffic rules, signs, official instructions and actual conditions take precedence. Do not operate the app while riding. PedalArrow is independently published; names and links identify sources and services and do not imply official or joint publication.

Recent changes:
Elevation profiles retain their values when saved and reopened. Live gradients are checked reliably with unevenly spaced GPS samples. Routes remain usable during temporary service failures. Profile scrubbing is smoother, and gradient colours and map views align more accurately with the route.
